Membrane: GORE-TEX (or equivalent) waterproof, windproof and breathable laminate with fully taped seams
Lining: Smooth backer or micro-grid interior to help manage moisture and layer comfortably over mid-layers
Hood: Helmet-compatible, fully adjustable hood with laminated peak for protection and clear vision
Zips: Water-resistant front zip and pocket zips, often with internal or external storm flaps
Ventilation: Underarm pit zips or strategic venting on selected models for extra airflow during high output
Pockets: Combination of chest, hand and/or internal pockets designed to stay accessible with a harness or pack
Fit: Trim, articulated fit with gusseted underarms for full range of motion without the hem lifting
Hem & cuffs: Adjustable hem drawcord and hook-and-loop cuff tabs to seal out wind, snow and spindrift
Use: Ideal as a technical outer layer for hiking, mountaineering, ski touring and wet-weather everyday wear
Care: Close all zips and fastenings, machine wash on gentle with technical detergent, then tumble dry low to help reactivate the DWR finish

Arc’teryx shell jackets generally fit true to size, with a trim, technical cut designed for layering over a base layer and a light mid-layer. We recommend choosing the same size you usually wear in outdoor or performance jackets.

If you prefer a looser fit or plan to wear thicker insulated layers underneath, you may feel more comfortable going up one size. Articulated patterning and gusseted underarms are designed to give you full freedom of movement without excess bulk.
